Hindi Day is celebrated every year on 14 September. On 14 September 1949, the Constituent Assembly had decided that Hindi would be the official language of the Central Government. Since Hindi was spoken in most parts of India, it was decided to make Hindi the official language and to emphasize the importance of this decision and to spread Hindi in every area, since 1953, 14 September is celebrated as Hindi Day every year across India.
